god what’s wrong with me…
Word of the day: doubloon
I was reading a book and it talks about an incident in which Dick Tarleton (a famous comedian from the 16th century) got hit in the face with an apple while he was performing onstage. This reminded me of John Flansburgh’s Gak incident. ”John Flansburgh is in great company,” I thought.
The book is The Age of Thomas Nashe: Text, Bodies and Trespasses of Authorship in Early Modern England, edited by Stephen Guy-Bray, Joan Pong Linton and Steve Mentz, Ashgate Publishing Company, 2013).
Q:Can it be time to maybe dig up the "slow" version of With The Dark? I'm dying to hear it not just being played with robots!
Q:RE: the ask about "Veronica", have you guys ever covered it live? Many years ago my brother dreamed about hearing you play it, and both he and I can perfectly imagine your version.
JF: We don’t do a lot of covers in the show besides the covers we’re known for (like Istanbul, New York City)
Thanks to a 2 year old niece, Disney, and TMBG, Hot Diggity Dog will always be on my brain.
